Holistic Health Associates International (HHAI) values and respects the privacy of our members and website users. HHAI is committed to providing quality services to, and protecting the privacy of, our members, in compliance and accordance with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) (“Privacy Act”) and other applicable privacy laws and regulations.

This Privacy Policy (“
Policy”) describes how we collect, hold, use, store, secure, and disclose your Personal Information, and outlines our ongoing obligations to you with respect to the management and security of your Personal Information.




What is Personal Information?

Personal Information” means any information or opinion, whether true or not, and whether recorded in a material form or not, about an identified individual or an individual who is reasonably identifiable. In general terms, this includes information or an opinion that personally identifies you either directly (e.g. your name) or indirectly.




Your Personal Information


The personal information we collect about you depends on the nature of your dealings with us or what you choose to share with us. Personal information collected and held by HHAI may include your name, date of birth, contact details (including landline/mobile phone number, email address/es, current and past mailing or street addresses, business address, etc.), demographic information (such as postcode, preferences, or interests), credit card details, educational qualifications, and professional indemnity insurance policy details.


Other information collected and held by HHAI as a direct result of membership includes, but is not limited to, member account information (used for account security purposes), membership number, join date, accredited modalities, educational records, certificates issued, and payment history.




How do we Collect your Personal Information?


HHAI obtains personal information in a number of ways, including directly from you when you:

  • provide information in documents, such as a membership application form or member profile;
  • interact with us online, including via email or a contact form;
  • interact with us in person;
  • interact with us over the phone, or via video call/meeting;
  • participate in surveys or questionnaires;
  • access or use the hhai.com.au website or HHAI member portal;
  • interact with online advertising, promotional content, or social media posts;
  • subscribe to our mailing list.


We may also collect your personal information from website cookies, from publicly available sources of information, or from third parties.




How do we Use your Personal Information?


We collect your personal information for the primary purpose of providing our services to you, administration and management of those services, improving the quality of the services we offer, and delivering to you a more personalised membership experience. We may also use your personal information for secondary purposes closely related to the primary purpose, such as internal administrative purposes, and for marketing and research purposes.

HHAI may also use personal information for fraud prevention and security purposes, such as to detect or investigate fraudulent, illegal, or malicious activity. If you choose to become a member or register an account on our website, you accept sole responsibility for the security of your account credentials, and must contact HHAI immediately if you believe that your account has been compromised. We highly discourage you from sharing any username, password, multi-factor authentication (MFA) details, or other account access details with any third party.

We may use your personal information for marketing and promotional purposes, such as to periodically contact you via email, phone, or mail with information regarding products, services, special offers, or other information that we believe is relevant to you. You may unsubscribe from our mailing/marketing lists at any time by contacting HHAI in writing.




Disclosure of Personal Information


In certain circumstances, we may disclose your personal information to third parties for legal or other reasons in accordance with this Privacy Policy. Such circumstances may include, but are not limited to:

  • With third parties where you consent to the use and disclosure;
  • With vendors or third-party service providers, such as our IT, marketing, payment processing, data analytics, login integration, or other professional services providers;
  • Where you direct us to disclose, or otherwise consent to the disclosure of, your personal information to a third party, such as may be required when shipping products to you; and
  • Where required or authorised by law, in order to comply with any applicable legal obligations.


HHAI will never disclose your email, address details, or sensitive personal information without your consent.




How do we Protect your Personal Information?

Holistic Health Associates International (HHAI) is committed to ensuring that your personal information is protected. We will take reasonable steps to ensure that the personal information that we hold about you is kept confidential and secure, including by:

  • maintaining robust physical security of any databases and/or records kept on our business premises;
  • taking measures to restrict access to only personnel who need that personal information to effectively provide services to you; and
  • ensuring technological security measures (e.g. anti-virus software, firewalls) are in place and frequently updated.



Maintaining the Quality of your Personal Information


It is important to us that your Personal Information is accurate, and HHAI takes all reasonable measures to ensure that the personal information we collect, use, and disclose is accurate, complete, and current. If you find that the information we have is inaccurate or obsolete, or the details of your personal information (such as your name, business name, address, business status, website, email address, or current phone number) change, we recommend that you advise us of any such changes or erroneous information as soon as practicable, so that we may update our records and ensure that we can continue to provide you with high quality services.




Retention of your Personal Information


HHAI will retain your Personal Information only for as long as is necessary for the purposes set out in this Privacy Policy. We will retain and use your Personal Information to the extent necessary to comply with our legal obligations (for example, if we are required to retain your data to comply with applicable laws), resolve disputes, and/or enforce our legal agreements and policies.

We may also retain website visitor usage data for internal analysis purposes. Such usage data is generally retained for a shorter period of time, except when this data is used to strengthen or improve the functionality of our services, or when we are legally obligated to retain this data for longer time periods.

Our website, member area, and/or social media properties may provide links to websites or other online platforms operated by third parties. If you click or navigate to websites or pages not owned, affiliated, and/or controlled by HHAI, you should review their privacy policies and other terms and conditions prior to use. We do not guarantee, and will not be held responsible for, the quality, privacy, or security of such external sites and pages, nor do we guarantee the accuracy or reliability of information found on these sites and pages. Our inclusion of third party links on our platforms does not, by itself, imply any endorsement of the content found on the linked websites or pages, or of their owners or operators, except as explicitly disclosed in text accompanying the link/s. Furthermore, inclusion of such links does not constitute a recommendation for the use or purchase of any products or services offered by third party sites, or their owners or operators, except as explicitly disclosed in writing on our website.


(ii) Cookies


The HHAI website uses Cookies, tracking pixels, and other related technologies. A cookie is a small data file of letters and numbers the website places on your device if you grant permission for it to do so. These cookies recognise when your device has visited our website/s before, so we can distinguish you from other users of the website and better understand your needs and preferences by analysing your usage of our platform. This improves your experience and the HHAI website. We use cookies on our website to, among other things, fulfil user requests (such as to enable users to login to our website), provide enhanced functionality for users (such as user accounts and saved preferences), and enhance web content.


We do not use cookies to identify you, and your acceptance of cookies does not in any way grant us access to your device or any personal information about you, other than the data you choose to share with us. We may use third-party service providers to monitor and analyse the use of our websites and other online platforms. The tracking data collected for analytics purposes helps us better understand visitor traffic, which allows us to continually improve our services. Although this data is mostly anonymous, in certain circumstances it may be connected to individual visitors.

We use the following third-party service providers to monitor and analyse the use of the HHAI website:

  • Google Analytics

Google Analytics is a web analytics service offered by Google that tracks and reports website traffic. Google uses the data collected to track and monitor the use of our Service. This data is shared with other Google services. Google may use the collected data to contextualize and personalize the ads of its own advertising network.

You can opt-out of having made your activity on the Service available to Google Analytics by installing the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on. The add-on prevents the Google Analytics JavaScript (ga.js, analytics.js, and dc.js) from sharing information with Google Analytics about visits activity.

  • Google AdWords

Google AdWords marketing service is provided by Google Inc.

You can opt-out of Google Analytics for Display Advertising and customise the Google Display Network ads by visiting the Google Ads Settings page: http://www.google.com/settings/ads 

Google also recommends installing the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on –http://www.google.com/settings/ads – for your web browser. Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on provides visitors with the ability to prevent their data from being collected and used by Google Analytics.

  • Meta Remarketing (Meta Pixel or Conversions API)

We use Meta Pixels and remarketing services on our website. Facebook Ads conversion tracking (Meta Pixel) is an analytics service provided by Facebook, Inc. that connects data from the Facebook advertising network with actions performed on the HHAI website.

This allows user behaviour to be tracked after they have been redirected to our website following interaction with an advertisement on Facebook or related Meta properties. Such tracking enables us to measure the effectiveness of our marketing strategies for statistical and market research purposes. 

The data collected in this way is anonymous, and no individual personal information is released to us during this tracking process. However, Facebook (Meta) may retain, store, and process this data, link it to your Facebook account, and use it for its own promotional purposes, in accordance with Facebook’s data usage policy, which can be found here: https://www.facebook.com/privacy/policyYou can allow Facebook and its partners to place ads on or off Facebook.
